Functional genomic Research and molecular improvement of cotton fiber quality |

Aiming at uncovering the genetic effects of the quality-control gene assemblies and discussing on the molecular mechanism of fiber quality and output so as to propose innovative theories and technologies for molecular improvement of fiber quality, chromosomal orientation of quality-controlling genes and QTLs will be implemented in this project using techniques introduced from genomics, functional genomics, proteomics and bio-informatics etc. In addition, whilst cloning new genes, investigations on expression adjustment, genic interactions, biological functions of the outcomes together with the functions of key enzymes & proteins will as well performed, intending to explain the genetic foundation of the quality characters and molecular mechanism of fiber growth.
